About Daniel Berant
Dr. Daniel Berant is one of the world’s few dual-trained specialists in the fields of Periodontal Plastic & Implant Surgery and Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Berant earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where he was awarded the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry. After working as a general dentist on the west coast for three years, he decided to pursue specialty training. He was accepted into the highly competitive Periodontics-Orthodontics program that only admits one resident per year at the University of Pennsylvania.
During his residency in Philadelphia, Dr. Berant worked closely with leading clinicians in the field of periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and endodontics to develop a protocol for Tooth Auto-Transplantation. His perseverance, hard work and passion for learning and teaching garnered him the respect of faculty and coresidents alike and has led him to be invited to speak internationally for various highly respected organizations such as the Academy of Osseointegration, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and others.
Beyond his clinical skillset and expertise, Dr. Berant takes the greatest pride in serving his patients with genuine care for their overall wellbeing. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists and a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Association of Orthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry. In his spare-time, Dr. Berant loves playing basketball, playing the piano, reading books of all genres and whenever possible traveling the world.
